Savitri Vidyasala Hindu Girls Higher Secondary School was established in 1938 in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. At a time when the educational system was highly westernized and distant from the local way of life, there arose a need for education grounded in Hindu cultural values. Our founder, Padmabhushan Sri N. Ramaswami Ayyar, a successful criminal lawyer from a humble and orthodox Hindu family, recognized this need. He devoted nearly four decades to nurturing the school, working tirelessly until his passing in 1976. His legacy has been faithfully carried forward by his son, Sri R. Panchapakesan, the current secretary.

Under the unwavering dedication of Diwan Bahadur Padmabhushan Sri N. Ramaswami Ayyar, the school officially began in 1938 as Savitri Vidyasala Hindu Girls’ High School, with just 40 students across four classes. Thanks to the founder’s relentless efforts, the student body grew to over a thousand within a decade. Today, the school stands as a sprawling institution, set on 25 acres along the banks of the Cauvery River in the heart of Tiruchirappalli, providing education to over 3,000 girls.

As Savitri Vidyasala approaches its centenary, it continues to uphold traditional values while integrating modern technological advancements in education, ensuring that students are well-prepared for the challenges of the contemporary world.
